haha - John had to go defend himself before idiots in congress about that song.
I have experienced that effect in nightime mountain air.

I don't know if I can say that a particular song changed my life. But I've been profoundly impacted by a variety of music.
I remember as a child hearing these lyrics from "Livin' on the Edge" by Aerosmith:
That shook me to my core. I was raised attending a Southern Baptist church, and religion was a huge part of my early life. I had never heard anyone say anything like that.
As a teenager, Outkast & The Doors had a heavy influence on me. Lots of rap.
I didn't find out that liked Incubus until a few years ago. Many of their songs have been really meaningful to me, but the refrain from "Nowhere Fast" has always stuck with me.
Pretty ambiguous, but I interpreted it spiritually.

There's somethin' wrong with the world today
I don't know what it is
Something's wrong with our eyes
We're seeing things in a different way
And God knows it ain't His

Will I ever get to where I'm going?
If I do, will I know when I am there?
If the wind blew me in the right direction would I even care?
I would.

Listening to Country Roads a few years ago made me realize how much I miss the country, and changed me in a sense. That's the closest thing to a "life changing" song for me.

No song has really changed my life but I've been listening to a lot of old grunge mtv unplugged shows. Alice in Chain's "Would" has a pretty deep meaning the more I listen to it.

yeah, kind of sad. I always understood the spiritual meaning. I think some folks just need a cause to be self righteous about and take things the wrong way.
