let us all wonder and marvel at this incredible piece of music. Don't think it will ever be topped in our lifetimes.

:not sure if serious:

But, saw them play this live at the Superdome for The Division Bell tour.
Completely, mind blowingly incredible.

And yes Ryno, when Gilmour starting the long intro coming back from intermission....didn't know what the hell was going on, until I got back to my seat, and....damn.

Good call, pretty much sums up the story of my life.
Song History

Shine On You Crazy Diamond (I-V)

Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom,
blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter,
come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine!
You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision,
rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions,
come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!

Just wondered cause it seems like your first response to anything is something about Phish or Trey

True.

Shine on isn't my favorite PF song, but it's decent. Goes to show you the wide variety of musical taste out there. I would put it in the middle of the pack for PF

2 Live Crew's, "Face Down, arse Up" was better.

There is a part in the first track of thsi song (unsure what part 1-7) where it sounds like Gilmoure plays 50 notes on one pluck of his guitar. When I first heard this song I couldn't figure out what was going on.
