Sid Vicious' exclusion was intentional.

An incomplete list without Sid Vicious

It's debatable whether-or-not Sid actually knew how to play the bass guitar.

Thanks for the input so far guys. I have a few ideas of how I'm gonna put this together. Getting a good list of names is just the beginning. I was thinking about weird lineup pairings too. Something like Elvis paired with Randy Roades on guitar and Rick James on bass.

That would be awesome!!!!

Do me a favor: look at including Terry Kath (Chicago). Check his early work ('68 - '75). He accidentally shot himself.

Just added him to the list on the first page. I'll definitely check him out.

Not exactly rock n roll, but muddy waters would also make a good lead singer or guitarist

I thought about Layne Staley on the way to school this morning. Damn that's a lot of musical talent on the list who are no longer with us.

Muddy Waters is a good one. It doesn't have to be strictly rock n roll, because these guys have a lot of different influences and styles. A lot of rock has a blues based influence.
