In the Midnight Hour

I remember seeing an interview with him where he talked about how the dance called The Jerk was just starting to get popular at the time, and that the emphasis was on the two, so Midnight Hour features a delayed back beat to make it conductive to the dance.

Do yourself a favor and look up “McLemore Avenue”, Booker T’s tribute to Abbey Road. Have to admit I’d never heard of it before until it was mentioned in some of the stories about Steve Cropper’s passing. Duck Dunn’s on it as well, the distinctive BT&MGs sound puts an incredible spin on a classic album. I don’t know how to post videos but somebody put up a link to “Something.” I just ordered a copy on vinyl, better late than never.

What a legend. Respected by any musician he came in touch with.
