Remember the band Loudness?

Recently, I was introduced to the awesome Japanese hard rock band, Loudness. What I have heard from them so far is some great material! The riff to the song “Crazy Nights” is one of the most kick-arse riffs I have heard in a long time. Who all here remembers them?

I have the Thunder In The East and Lightning Strikes albums from back in the day, bought at New Generation in BR (older guys reference). Those albums really show off the guitar talents of Akira Takasaki, who was, and still is, an amazing guitarist! I lost track of them in the late 80’s, but also bought Soldier Of Fortune, which had a different singer & wasn’t as good as the earlier stuff, and also purchased one of Akira’s solo albums which had some excellent guitar oriented songs. They were in heavy rotation in the early heavy metal days of MTV. They have tons of albums out there that I haven’t heard, and I see the singer all over Youtube playing with Yoyoko, that very young drummer prodigy. Solid band!

I've been a big fan for a long time. Akira actually turned me onto ESP guitars before George Lynch did.

They played at Warehouse Live in Houston back in May.

One of my restorations from a few years ago. This began life as a circa 1985 Akira version Dano-head "Random Star." And some past knucklehead stripped the Ferrari red paint, threw away the decorative mirrors (grrrr) and repainted it with the worst rattlecan white you could imagine. I went with a custom color one of my painters and I call "alien bile."

Just opened for GnR at a couple of venues in Japan last November. Band-Maid opened the other on that run.
