Religious Music - what are your favorites?
I’m sure there will be plenty of trolls in here, but religious music can be awesome. Elvis got started in religious music and it inspired tons of southern artists. Post some of your favorites. Which religion? As Indiana Jones said, “depends who your god is.” Doesn’t have to be Christian but I like Christian hymns. Apart from Gregorian chants, I like Lord of All Hopefulness

Lord of the Dance is my guilty pleasure hymn.

Not really a fan of Christian rock or anything like that.

Alive by POD is a Christian rock song that took by surprise years ago. It's obvious he's signing about Jesus once I paid attention to the lyrics and heard they were born again Christians.

The Womack Brothers - "Couldn't Hear Nobody Pray" (1961)

Later rewritten with secularized lyrics as "Lookin' For A Love" and cut by the Womacks as The Valentinos. This in turn was later covered by the J. Geils Band.
