Radiohead stage collapse: One man dead

One man is dead and another is in hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a stage collapsed at Downsview Park Saturday afternoon, forcing the cancellation of a sold-out Radiohead concert.
Police said a man in his 30s was killed by a “heavy, crushing injury” after stage scaffolding fell just before 4 p.m., trapping him underneath metal debris. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man, 45, was taken to Sunnybrook hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Paramedics treated two other male victims for minor injuries at the scene and they were later released. All of the victims were stage workers.

It's a given there will be a lawsuit, but with this:
I wonder if Radiohead is still held liable, or is it the contractor.

This is a real drag man. The rigging on these outdoor concerts/fairs has been taken for granted for a long time. I had a couple friends that survived the Surgarland collapse last summer and I haven't looked at a stage the same since.

That's even more sad. Awful to hear. I was thinking at Bonnaroo the entire time about how top heavy these stages are. Having seen the Sugarland collapse and this, there needs to be more work put into the stages being safe. Not to mention, think of the absolute chaos that would ensue if an artist was up there when these things happened. The close proximity of people mixed with the possible injury of the act performing would lead to anarchy.
