Phish headlines Lettermans music tonight. They are playing a song off of their new studio album, Fuego, that dropped today. Haven't had a chance to hear any songs that are on it so I guess I will take a listen tonight.

Man they must really be struggling for publicity

While I enjoy a little phish, I couldn't stomach dredging through that pissing contest of "oh I know this and that and I've been to x amount of shows" that phish usually brings

My thought as well. Something just seems odd about this.

This new album may be an attempt to move to the big times

Meh, a little publicity never hurts. As big in the jam band scene as they have become over the years they aren't exactly a house hold name. Jam bands in general don't get a lot of FM radio love so i feel like word of mouth and random public appearances like letterman is their biggest advertisement

But letterman? He's a joke, the least cool place you could play besides maybe dr Phil's show

MB phish thread is a lot more accepting

They've played Letterman several times over the last 2 decades

Yeah, Lettermen isn't cool enough. There aren't many "cool" musicians that haven't played on Lettermen.
Jerry Garcia
Van Morrison
Buddy Guy
Warren Zevon
Taj Mahal
No coolness there.

that's nonsense. letterman is the #1 late night destination for bands to play right now since he's leaving soon.

You're a fricking idiot. They've played Letterman regularly over the course of their career. The last thing Phish needs is more publicity considering they're the most popular live act to play in the last 20 years.

So letterman is cool now, got it.

Why are you letting this clown troll you?
Posted on 6/25/14 at 10:39 am to TreyAnastasio
How am I trolling? Letterman is terrible.
