Good questions. Don't forget Chunk of Change; they got better from that, imo.
Manner is amazing but Gossamer has some key tracks that blow it away -- it's a really nice, vivacious sound they have going and I like the direction. It's too bad Michael Angelakos has had some personal issues lately.

I think Chunk of Change is quite amazing, actually. I'm not sure "Better Things" isn't my favorite song that they've done. Okay, it isn't as good as Sleepyhead, but after that it's in the conversation.

I think I still give the nod to Manners. I really really like Gossamer -- I think it's my favorite album of the year -- but no song is as good as "Sleepyhead" imo.

I was listening to Gossamer yesterday, and I found myself thinking: This is not music that you would think men would like. It's very...eh...effeminite?

Love them, can't wait to see them live in October. They're really good. "Manners" and "Gossamer" are both fantastic albums and both have their own proper time and place.
Favorite tracks --
Manners -- "Make Light," "Little Secrets," "Eyes as Candles," "Folds in Your Hands," and "Sleepyhead."
Gossamer -- "Take a Walk," "Carried Away," "Cry Like a Ghost," "Hideaway," "Love is Greed," and "It's Not My Fault, I'm Happy."
Generally speaking, when I listen to "Manners" I find myself not bothering to skip tracks because I don't find any of them particularly offensive and enjoy some of them. With "Gossamer" on the other hand, I pretty much only listen to the songs I listed because the others bore me. If I were to score each album on average a 7, "Gossamer" would be evenly split between tracks that were 9's and 5's while "Manners" would be full of 8's and 6's.
