Parquet Courts return with a new record, "Sympathy for Life," on October 22nd. Their last release, "Wide Awake," was a killer album that's gone criminally un-noticed. This is shaping-up to be a great listen, based on what we've heard so far.

The first single from the album...

...and the second song released.

I feel like this band is the best thing out there today and will likely blow-up big, soon.

Wide Awake! was one of my favorite albums of the last decade. All of their albums are really good, but I thought that was their best yet.

Avoiding the singles for the new one, but really looking forward to the album.

Never heard of them but thanks for the heads up. They remind me of good 80's alternative.

One of my favorite "recent" bands. Still put on Light up Gold for regular listening.

Definitely one of the best bands going. Their last three albums are all great but have gotten progressively better every time. Hoping this trend continues.

Wide Awake! had some serious bangers.

The two songs you linked are easily my favorite new tracks of the last five years, at least. "Fight/Patience" is a killer.

Tenderness

Love this track. A little softer, less punk than the average PC track, but that piano melody is killer.

The album dropped late last night on Apple Music; I've given it a couple of listens, already. It's a bit different from their last record, but still quite good. They've leaned a bit harder into the art-rock aspect of their sound, but that's not really a bad thing. The garage rock elements and grooves are still there and they're quite good! It's too soon to pick favorite tracks...
