I believe this song is Ozzy Osbourne's best lyrics.

"I just want you."

I always liked the lyrics to Black Sabbath. They're really spooky.

According to most members of the music industry, Ozzy usually didn't write his lyrics, even if the respective song credits indicate so.

Geezer Butler and Bob Daisley were usually the lyricists for most of his better known songs.

But Brosef is correct, Ozzy did indeed pen the lyrics to "Black Sabbath" after hearing about Geezer's nightmare involving a cloaked figure.

Ozzy had recently given Geezer a book on medieval black magic and apparently Geezer's imagination got the best of him.

Other than 'Black Sabbath' and 'Snowblind', I personally don't know of any songs Ozzy wrote the lyrics to.

I like the lyrics to Over the Mountain. I'm not sure if Ozzy wrote that or not but the lyrics are great.

Bob Daisley has claims to have written all of the lyrics to Ozzy's first two solo albums. All Ozzy did was just contribute lyric melodies for the songs. But Ozzy does take full credit for all the lyrics on his albums. This is what's claimed at least.

I know that Jack E. Lee and Zak have had some similar very public spat with Oz in the past with this very same issue.

One of my favorite RR riffs/ solos. Love that tune.

Pretty sure that was Bob D.
He wrote most (all) of the lyrics for Blizzard and Madman...just got screwed out of writing creds.

Poor Bob. He thought they were the Blizzard of Ozz band up until the album dropped and he saw the cover.

I would've been one pissed off dude.

ETA: I think "Goodbye to Romance" was Ozzy...maybe.

Bob Daisley has his own website where he discusses song by song what lyrics he wrote on Ozzy's songs. Probably about 97% of the lyrics on Ozzy's first two solo albums with Ozzy contributing a few lines here and there. Bob was fired by Ozzy but later was rehired later to work on subsequent albums. Bob Daisley, Lee Kerslake (drummer) and Randy R. made the mistake of writing those two albums before they had signed contracts with Ozzy's management (Don Arden - Sharon Osbourne's father) When Sharon took over the management she made them Ozzy solo albums and not a band called "Blizzard of Oz" as Daisley was lead to believe. Daisley and Kerslake later sued but lost in court because they had not signed contracts. All the information is on Daisley's website. Daisley also has a FB page where he openly chats with fans.He also recently wrote a book about his career entitled "For Facts Sake" where he discusses the subject. Interesting stuff!

Jake E. Lee wasn't given any credit for writing the music to "Bark at the Moon".

Wondering if Oz is really that much of a prick or if Sharon had more to do with this stuff giving Ozzy full credit and royalty rights over the songs.

I should have wrote best lyrics to an Ozzy Osbourne song.

Of course he didn't write his own lyrics...he's illiterate.

Didn't they go back a few years ago and re-record all the bass parts on those early Ozzy solo albums to further screw Bob Daisley out of money? A friend of mine who is a big fan of Ozzy's early solo work always talks about that...said that's why he didn't buy the reissues. Apparently, it was all a Sharon thing. Ozzy seems too addled to come up with a plan to actually screw someone out of money.
