glad you can admit bisco is a tier III trancefusion band.
enjoy hearing champions for the 12th time this year in vegas after phish crushes yet another run.

What a fricking run - may be the most fun I've ever had at a phish run - got to see some top notch phish with tons of different friends over three nights.
I enjoyed each night progressively better. Sunday night Tweprise in set 1 is the wildest I've ever seen the crowd get. Sand, tase, golden age were all great. Loved that encore, etc, and was about 20' from Trey - absolute blast.
Friday night was probably the "best" musically. First time I've gotten to see a real deal Hood where they attacked the peak like that - stood with a friend in the box and had a perfect view, couldn't even dance just stare in awe - probably looked a lot like Hood Guy.
Saturday night had a pav ticket but stood in the lawn - first set in the rain was great. And the second set got deep, first time seeing Crosseyed, that Soul Planet jam was phenomenal, and I absolutely love piper and slave.

No one was prepared.

I had joked about it Saturday being a tweprise opener, had to use an arm on my tall friends shoulder to get some extra lift-off.

So all my ATL people, on a serious note, was that a top 3 run of 3.0?
I think it is, without any question. shite, might be the best run of 3.0 period.
So glad the boys seem to kill it when they down south to play for winners.

Its definitely up there, would need to think back and relisten / let the afterglow wear off before forming a firm opinion like that though.

dicks '12 is in the conversation, last weekend too

That's the best 3 night run I've seen personally. At least the best I can remember.

So let's get a review/list of good jams/cool moments/bustouts/etc
Night 1 (8/3)
Set 1:
- First Tube>No Man's>Ghost to open the run
not to mention that Ghost was 20 minutes and amazing (maybe the jam of the show if not for that Carini)
- very good Martian Monster > above average Tube
Set II:
- Tweezer > Blaze On (both excellent)
- Carini, 20 minutes, the best I've personally seen, and top 3 3.0 version easily
- very good but not great Hood
Night 2 (8/4)
Set 1:
- my first frick Your Face i've seen, always cool
- my first Lengthwise i've seen, straight segue (->) into Maze
Set II:
- Ham Plan....i mean, Soul Planet is a terrible.....TERRIBLE song, but frick that jam is a "banger". about 24 minutes of heat. funk>ambient>bliss>full band thematic peak>space funk. not to mention a full on -> into ASIHTOS
- 14 minute Piper. about 7 and a half minutes in Page starts up on the synth and this one gets WEIRD. the last 5 minutes are some top notch 3.0 space funk
- good but not great set ending Slave
Night 3 (8/5)
Set 1:
- Mother. fricking. Sexy. Thing. was standing next to HeadyBrosevelt and CptPanic for that one, and to say we went ballistic is a serious understatement. especially Heady, who has now seen both versions played. This Sexy Thing will be a bit of a theme this show, which may forever be referred to as the "Sexy Thing Show"
- and right after that, like we could go any crazier, they go right into motherfricking Tweezer Reprise IN THE FIRST SET. and beyond that, it straight segues (->)into What's the Use?. so to open a show we got Sexy Thing>Tweeprise>What's the Use. Holy frick, name a better opening trio than that
- Most Events Aren't Planned is a great fricking song, and the first time I'd seen it live (also my first time to see Petrichor but....kinda opposite reaction. maybe the worst song of the weekend and murdered the crowd energy)
- my first Vultures
- above average Reba
- Sand, that was probably the best peak by Trey of the weekend, to close the set
Set II:
- solid Taste with a What's the Use? tease/jam in it
- nearly 20 minute Golden Age. above average, sort of a laid back affair. but the killer moment is at the end, where they bring in the whistling for Reba, except to the beat of Golden Age. was SUPER cool, and a big time highlight of the weekend for me. our little section went pretty crazy.
- my first Mango Song
- Gin > Sexy Thing Reprise. and you think that's the last time you'll hear Sexy Thing at this show...
- Encore that reads on paper as: Fee, 2001>Sexy Thing Reprise jam>Tweezer Reprise Reprise>2001. Best fricking encore I've ever seen, any band, ever. Me, Heady, and CptPanic (and our whole section tbh) were having a dance contest down there in the Pav
All in all....what a weekend. Just when you think this band is back to playing snoozers this year, they bring it hard for this ATL run.
See you phanners in Hampton

I am doing Hampton as well. Skipping Dicks for the first time in 5 years—doing Curveball instead.
My friend who is doing Curveball with me just drove his RV (pretty plush I gotta say) from New Orleans to Albequerque, NM for a Dead & Co. show, then to Boulder, CO for 2 more D&C, then drove to The Gorge for 3 night Phish run, then headed to Los Angeles for another, then back south and stopped in Austin for another Phish show, touched base in New Orleans for a night, then off to ATL for this last weekends run, and got home yesterday.
He is also doing Curveball, Dicks, and Hampton.......dedication.

The ghost on 8/3 was so good it gave me Curveball FOMO during it.

Ya really wish I could have made curveball but gotta be in charlotte for work through that Friday.
Going to Raleigh and I have tickets to MPP - so want to try and hit those two as well but that drive and all seems kind of daunting.

Been pulsating with love and light while skydiving off earth the past few daze... full review to come later
IMO 8.3.18 is quintessential Phish regardless of era... right there with the 8.31.12 ,7.25.17, etc of the world. In fact its setlist construction reminds me distinctively of the aforementioned FYF, with much better executed jamming.....
Ghost. Tweezer. Top shelf stuff. And don't forget First Tube, which in the opening slot defined what the Alpharetta run would be.
But the point of this writing is the Carini. My god, this jam "fricks." So much territory while remaining cohesive in the first 10 minutes alone before a blast off into encountering the unknown. Carini went from a somewhat rarity in previous instances of the band to a standard in 3.0, and this 8.3.18 jam is the most successful work to emerge from the now behemoth.
I believe in miracles...

Also I strained a muscle in my right arm from fist pumping during the Tweezer Reprise madness on Sunday
