How the hell is it pretentious to make a double album?
Noel's cries for attention are just plain annoying.

Given the way music is distributed these days, it makes more sense to release two. My double album cents.

Noel Gallagher is the Spurrier of the British songwriting scene.

Why does distribution method have anything to do with how an artist should decide to release a work of art? Let's say they release two albums back to back. Now they are labeled as "sell outs" just trying to milk as much money off their fans as possible. It's really stupid.
Artists should release music however they want to and shouldn't let idiots like Noel Gallagher influence them.

This may be the greatest Arcade Fire-related quote ever

Noel should get a Grammy for his interviews! He also has high praise in this interview for Bowie & Kanye, so he not just a hater of everything.

The double album itself is not pretentious. The shitty music is. As is the formal dress code, the gay interpretive dance, etc. Noel tells it like it is. Would love to hear Liam chime in, too..

I like AF, but that whole interview is gold. As are pretty much all Noel Gallagher interviews.
This. Agreed with just about everything he said, seems like a cool guy to have fronted a shitty brit-pop band.

I know right. That one song wonderball or whatever was ok.

Haven't listened to the album all the way through yet, but I do love Arcade Fire's entire first album

Going to Noel Gallagher for guidance on anything is fricking retarded.

Team Noel.
Arcade Fire is a band people think they are supposed to like. The fact it's terrible is irrelevant.

It is a great fricking song. VERY overplayed, though. I don't know how one can listen to What's the Story, Morning Glory all the way through and call it "shitty Brit-pop", but to each his own.
