Nice list. The Clan of Xymox. I'm not sure if I own anything by them other than on cassette. I'm going to need to change that.
Front 242...now you're digging into my roots in Chicago, along with Front Line Assembly, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Coil, and of course Ministry.
I guess I have an issue with the term New Wave because it means different things to different folks.
I think of Haircut 100, Fun Boy Three, Alphaville, etc. Things that really aren't punk, but yet avante garde for the times.

"new wave" is kind of hard to define like you stated
eta: philipp strobel's aufnahme + wiedergabe out of berlin is an up and coming record label that looks promising. Reminds me of the 80's underground scene a lot.
