It got mixed reviews on here - was just polarizing for many. This isn't why people are annoyed by him.
I try not to pay any mind to my favorite artists social comments. If I did, there wouldn't be many artists for me to enjoy.

I like his music but damn I wish he'd just shut the frick up. I'm less and less disappointed the show I had tickets to (Childers/Simpson) got cancelled. Really wanted to see Childers but from what I've heard Sturgill just rails on the music industry and bitches about politics for two hours at his shows. I long for the High Top Mountain and Metamodern Sounds days because I knew what a shmuck he was.

I see no issue with any of his ramblings on the industry. Mostly because I simply don’t pay much attention to it but also haven’t heard him say anything that I don’t agree with, in that regard.
As for the political stuff, it doesn’t bother me. I don’t necessarily have the same views as he, and others in the industry, but that’s fine. The same people I see bitching about him, and his constituents, using his/their platform to voice their views and opinions are the same people beating there dicks raw when Toby Keith or the likes make another “‘Merica” song.
