Capturing a good snare drum sound is completely non existent anymore. I get thats synth voices and all but whatever happened to a good crisp rimshot pop. Everything today is so dulled down into this blah medium ranged no high and lows monotone recipe.

Radiohead: THEN

Radiohead: NOW

I get growing a band, but they have completely changed into a not interesting sound. The new song isn't necessarily bad, but it's not good

It's OK. If I'd listened to this blind, I would have thought it was Coldplay until the first chorus.

I like many Radiohead songs, or would like if Yorke wasn't singing. I hate his voice. This song, the instrumental portion has finally sunk to Yorke's vocal level.

Yeah, I'm not sure about this song. Maybe it'll fit better into the context of the full album.

I wasn't a big fan of King of Limbs. It was just a boring album. It was a shame because In Rainbows was excellent. I'm hoping they turn things around with this one.

so because radiohead's new single doesn't have a snare drum pop EVERYTHING today (what a mighty broad brush) doesn't?

that is ridiculous. think about what you just said.

Song is decent. I'll say I like it more than basically anything off King of Limbs, but it's worse than anything on In Rainbows.

When's the album supposed to come out?

In Rainbows is my favorite Radiohead album. It's much more consistent and easy on the ears than some of their other projects, IMO. I feel like it's their most cohesive album along with Kid A, which is not very easy on the ears. I didn't grow up liking Radiohead, so that may have something to do with my tastes.

I love talking about Radiohead. They're one of the few bands where you consistently get varied opinions on their best work.

Just because this one song is like that, doesn't mean the whole album is going to sound like this. Either way, I really dig the new song. I also enjoyed King Of Limbs. And to say that everything today is dulled down to a medium ranged monotone recipe is kind of dumb, no?

I can't wait for the rest of the album.

Man Pablo honey is just ok IMO

Could've used something from OK Computer or Kid A, The Bends or In Rainbows

On my second listen - it's a perfect blend of Radiohead old and new in my opinion.

I was contrasting the difference between first record and newest song. Certainly The Bends is far superior, but that wasn't my point. Plus I disagree; Pablo Honey is good. I used to not think so and then one day years back it was on and it hit me. Ever since I like it plenty. Definitely not in their top 3 records, but it's a good listen

Yep. Just more crappy nonsense from probably the most overrated act of all time.

Are they overrated now? Sure. The Bends and OK Computer were not though. Those are all time great records

I like it. It's not paranoid android, let down, everything in it's right place, etc., but I think it sounds promising for the new album.
