Better than what I was expecting. IMO sounds better than the Ben Hillier albums.

They haven't put out anything good since he OD'd on stage. They shows have always been great though.

That's what I'm thinking as well.
I still don't hear a song that really does it for me though.
It's like they forgot how to write great songs. The songs are just "OK" for lack of a better word.

Yes, very true. It's like he could take a mediocre Martin Gore song and turn it into a great song.

DM have been my favorite band since age 13. While this is best album since Playing the Angel, it simply doesn't have great songwriting. The production lifts the tracks up but underneath it's just poor songs. And not a fan of them ratcheting up the preachy political rhetoric on a few of them.
