I'm thinking if we ever manage to get the pandemic under control to a degree that live music can function without audience trepidation, there's going to be a boom for it and the Varsity space won't be left essentially vacant if there's money to be made. I'm sure whoever's looking at making that decision is simply gauging the demand.

I couldnt imagine being a young college kid without the Varsity or Spanish Moon. It was like every other weekend (sometimes during the week) we’d be spending the little money we had on $10-$20 tickets to these shows and sneaking in pocket liquor and having the times of our lives.
One of my coworker’s sons was a senior in high school last year and currently a freshman in college this year. Two of the best years of his life learning the ropes (joys) of adulthood just washed away in a sense.
