Baton Rouge has needed a smaller bar/venue that books mid level touring bands for a while. Mid city ballroom is cool but it not serving alcohol was always a drawback.

I know it was reported here awhile ago to be in the works, but I like how they came out of nowhere this weekend with a well orchestrated social media blitz and already have two shows booked from touring bands.

The Varsity closed? What happened? I moved away about two years ago.

I know the former manager of the varsity has another job elsewhere and said they have no plans to host events other than gamedays and private stuff.

thanks Mb, but that belongs to the Bayou. But you are kind. The best former dank, lesbian bar under a bridge to get a calendar of some names in a matter of months I would say.

Their talent buyer booked the moon and other venues for 20 years so has some solid relationships with agencies … won’t take long
