Looking to buy my daughter a new record player. She has a basic one but want to step up. What’s a good middle of the road one that won’t break the bank?

Audiotechnica LP-120 or UTurn Orbit. Great choices to upgrade - It's amazing (but not surprising) how much improvement comes with a better player.

Fluance RT81 at $250 is a really solid "real" table that includes a decent cartridge, a built in preamp and looks sharp. Unless you want some specific feature like Bluetooth or USB connectivity, it's hard to beat at the price.

Seconded, I love mine. Customizable in multiple ways. I suggest the Ortofon 2M Red.
