Need Help: Turntable to Speakers

Hi Music Board, my first post here.
So, for whatever reason I got the urge I wanted to own a record player to play my collection of vinyls.
Well, I ordered a Sony LX250H . Nothing special I know, but a good starter record player from what I've been told.
I've always had a ton of vinyls my Dad gave me. Classic Rock. MoTown. Zydeco. Ton of classics.
Well, the record player came in today. And I've got quality speakers I've had in my closet since forever.
Without buying a new receiver, is there a way to connect the record player to my speakers. The only input/output on the record player are standard male red/black component cable.
What do I need?

It has a built in phono-amp, will I still need the pre-amp?
And are you saying I still need a receiver or I don't if I get a pre-amp and an amplifier?

Depends on your speakers. Are they amplified? Post what you have.
With that turntable, you don't need a receiver with Phono inputs. Sony built in the phono preamp, so it just has RCA outputs (L and R). So you need to connect those outs to inputs on either Powered (amplified) speakers or to a power amp or receiver that is connected to speakers.

Just basic block Phillips non-powered speakers. So I'll need a power-amp?

Yep. You need something to power the speakers. Power Amp, Receiver, etc.
It needs to have an input for the turntable as well.

yeh, but that doesn't have any speaker wire outputs.

Yes it does. It has balanced audio out and regular speaker wire terminals on the back. 200 watts per channel. Look at the 3rd picture. It has an image of the back. It's an integrated AMPLIFIER.

Yeah. Didn't look at the price tag on it. Great piece though.

thanks man but I'm not hooking up a $100 starter record player up to a $350 amp. I went to BestBuy and bought a $180 Sony receiver with the BestBuy gift cards I've collected at work.
nothing fancy, but again this is just for that record player in a different part of my apartment.

Damn, I'm jelly.
I got into it via my lil brother. He's a hipster. Has his own collection with a few classics mixed in. I went over to his place last weekend and was floored by how different and better the sound was. It's as it was meant to be heard.
So I pulled out the huge box of vinyls my Dad gave me and went thru and found hundreds of songs I wanted to hear like that. So...I had to get myself a record player.
Boston, Journey, AC/DC, Zeplen, Kansas, Otis Redding, Ray Charles, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, CCR, Johhny Cash, The Temptations, and countless others...
I even found the worst song ever wrote, Captain and Tenille "Muskrat Love"
I'm pretty pumped to get home today and crank up the tunes.
I bet you've got some awesome LP's saved away.

(not to you) My comment on pre-amp is that you gave to have a pre-amp to go with an amp, unless you have an integrated amp (pre-amp & amp included) or a receiver (pre-amp & amp included, with a tuner as well). The pre-amp is what the volume knob connects to.
