Bump, album is live, if you want to support me the most Bandcamp is the best platform, otherwise just stream it.

Thanks

It's not bad. Muzack for a new generation. The one critique I have is that a bassist with some groove and pocket would go a long way to making it feel more organic.

Yea, appreciate it (noice reference btw)

I didn't put much bass guitar on it bc I haven't played it in a while, everything was written and performed/programmed by myself.

It's not perfect, I mainly released it bc I've made music my whole life and could never work up to release it.

So a few of these are not polished, bc I set myself a deadline.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and provide feedback, the next proper album (sometime in 2022) should be way more polished bc now I have gotten over the initial release stage fright, and will focus on the tracks for completion.

I was hoping you’d bump this thread; I remember you mentioning the release in another thread. Doing a “speed listen” while at work…

It’s an interesting take on the whole retrowave/vaporwave trend with the addition of guitars. It has more depth than Muzak (or elevator music) and deserves to be more than just background music. There were several places where the songs flirted with getting to a really huge climax, like a classic trance song but never got there - leaves me wondering what could have been.

As a lifelong bass player (typical guitar music) who has a passing interest in electronic music, I really like this and think it's 90% of the way there. Great foundation and I think some brighter synths and a female vocal track here and there could make these songs sound really full. One thing that bugs me about this type of music is that it seems to be almost devoid of traditional arrangement - you may really benefit from some hooks (vocal, bass line, or a sample) to differentiate yourself.

Side note: I’m very interested in the idea of a traditional live band that recreates electronica. I think it could be huge. Look up Pinn Panelle on Youtube.

Great feedback, really appreciated, there's a few reasons the songs sound that way (great catch btw, can tell you are a fellow musician) because I didn't want my first release to be an EP (30 mins or under) and I was producing these between taking two high level math classes that I messed up on scheduling last semester.

I had about 4-5 tracks I was going to focus on and really fill out but ran out of time, so I quickly ran through some ideas I had, just to put it out (and get over the EP runtime).

I really appreciate the feedback, on the next release I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I've been flirting with auto tune, and just random obscure samples (like early Aphex Twin) but I havent decided what I'm going to do about that yet.

Distributer gives me 2 acts to put on it, so I'm thinking about making a new, project (possibly a collab based one) and put vocals on that, keeping this A-Obie act as a separate outlet eventually maybe breaking into video games, films, or tv shows maybe picking up the music, I've already been shown some interest in that realm.
Obviously none of this is my reasoning for doing all this, just saying I could see that in the future one day.
