Alright who wants to help contribute to my playlist for my reception(doing the whole ipod dj thing, reception laid back casual thing on the beach)

Me and my FI love 90s rock/alternative. Both hate rap and hip hop and like a lil country and classic rock and indie music as well. I also love me some cheesy 80s music. My fave band Smashing Pumpkins, his Metallica.

Most of our guests will be our age with similar music tastes as well.

Give me some suggestions to have a wide variety of music at the reception that everyone can enjoy. Gonna likely be around 40 guests so I don't really see a ton of dancing going on but you never know. Figure if no one is dancing, they can at least have some good music playing in the background as everyone socializes.

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

When the reception is winding down play Closing Time by Semisonic.

A good romantic (sort of) song is Tonic - If you could only see. I think that's the name of it the main line is "If you could only see the way she loves me then maybe you would understand.

If you don't play Belly - feed the tree I will be pissed.

Iona...never heard that song but listening to it now...I like!(added to list)

Feel free to suggest "beachy" sounding music as well. I'm already having my family and bridal party walk down the aisle to Beach Boys "God Only Knows"

Robert Earl Keen is a country music singer from Corpus Christi TX and a lot of his music is "beachy" sounding.

Against Federal law to have a wedding without this song:

Elvis - "Can't Help Falling In Love"

Also:

Van Morrison - "Tupelo Honey"

John Lennon - "Love"

The Everly Brothers - "Let It Be Me"

Leon Payne - "I Love You Because" - This is the original version and my favorite, but it will probably be too old and too country for you. If so, you can try this cover by Jim Reeves

A few years ago I made a wedding CD for somebody, but I forgot what I put on it!

Anyway these should be a start
