I like their music, but that super screechy falsetto is too much for me.

Aside: When Love is Like Oxygen was on the radio, I thought it was "love is like...opposite dungeons."

I think it might be Sweet - or Bad Company.

Fox on the Run and Ballroom Blitz. Heck, I think Little Willy too.

Perhaps I am not describing it properly or I am hearing it wrong?

One of the two. Listen to Fox on the Run again. Point out where it happens because I don't recall it.

Chorus in all three songs. It's not harmony. An octave above the melody.

Interesting that they were called The Sweet. Never heard that before.

I can't stand screechers, and cannot listen to Zep, Boston, Rush, Starship w/Mickey Thomas etc... But The Sweet singer doesn't bother me.

This is not the main singer. It's one of the others an octave above the lead and only in the chorus.

Interesting. I don't mind those voices.

Dave Matthews and Sting throw me into a revulsion convulsion.

Steely Dan. They had moderate success sure, but you never hear anyone today go, "Hey, is that Steely Dan?" Like they would with a band like Journey or The Eagles. I like it that way though.

I’m going to say David Bowie. He had moderate success in America. In America, you might get somebody to say, “Hey, is that David Stardust?” And you have to look at them weird.
