Mick Taylor - The Rolling Stones (1969–74). He has appeared on some of the Stones' classic albums, including Let It Bleed (1969), Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! The Rolling Stones in Concert (1970), Sticky Fingers (1971) and Exile on Main St. (1972).

He was certainly on some of their best music and I am partial to Exile as their best album.

This version is everything that is real Rock and Roll:

Yes. You have somehow read my mind. He was phenomenal. Seems like Keef was jealous and had to edge him out. Whether you agree with that or not, it was the best "heroiny" version of the Stones. Keef wif black teef and the rest looking so shabby and drugged out. Awesomeness.

Maybe I should start another thread "Toothless Keef" is the best Keef!!

They were, in this era, clearly fueled by drugs, alcohol and insanity but the adrenaline it created made some of their best music.

Here is the free concert they put on in Hyde Park on 7/5/69 just a few days after Brian Jones forgot how to swim. Mick Taylor performing with the group for the first time in front of about 100K.

It's been out for years on bootleg.... then officially by the Stones briefly in 2010.. and about to be released again on the Goats Head Soup reissue on 9/4 but Brussels Affair '73 is their best live album. Very similar to the '72 US tour but a tad bit better. Taylor is on fire on this album.

Yes. Brian Jones version no. 2. Aftermath, Between The Buttons, Beggars Banquet, and Let It Bleed are pretty damn strong.

Yes . Also, the quality of the audio and video on the 1971 Marquee Club show compared to almost every other recording of any music/show from that era kind of pisses me off. So many great live shows from the bands of that era were recorded on a potato. They could do it (record live) well...but the industry just didn't do it very much.

His slide playing and technical accuracy was solid on this one.

I'm a huge fan of Ron Wood. His solo stuff is great, and his work with The Stones and the side project The New Barbarians with Keith was awesome - but, I completely agree, the Mick Taylor years with The Stones were the best.

That said, this is a really good album by Ron Wood.

Brian really didn't play much on Beggar's Banquet. Keith had to go in and overdub a lot of his parts on that album. Keith described him as being "up in the stratosphere" during the recording of that album.

But that is him on No Expectations and Parachute Woman...as well as the backing sitar on Street Fighting Man.

They did their best work with Mick Taylor but I am huge fan of the black and Blue era when they got Ronnie Wood and had Billy Preston in the band with Ollie Brown accompanying Charlie on percussion
