I saw him at the Beau Rivage and Paragon. He was pretty good at both, but I went expecting him to only sing a few songs. He's 75 years old (and an old 75). I enjoyed the show.

I had some friends go last year when he was at the River Center and said he was bad. It is 5 decades after he started his career though.

Yep, I didn't go to that because I figured he would have gone down hill.

He's still top 3 for my all time favorites

Lot of love for Waylon in this thread. I'll make a Waylon thread next week.

Here's the Hank Sr. one I made a few weeks ago... LINK

Silver wings and that's the way love goes are two of my favorites.

I like big city and Pancho and Lefty (with Willie)

Great stuff...

I find it hard to argue with the fact that the Hag is the greatest of all time. He was SO good for so long, he's one of the greatest.

I've yet to listen to a haggard tune that I didn't enjoy. The guy just had some fricking great arse music.

ETA: And there's a TON of it. Man must have cut a million songs.

I agree, but I am listening to alot of Vern Gosdin right now. I think is pretty underrated, IMO.

I just notched it up to him getting old.

In my case he was falling down drunk. I get that he's a music star and all that shite, but I didn't buy tickets to see him stumble around, forget lyrics, and ramble about politics.

Yes he is. Great singer but didn't nearly have the longevity of Merle. "Do You Believe Me Know" and "Chiseled in Stone" are two of the great country songs.
