Mental Jewelry is Live's best album. Change my mind.

Sure Throwing Copper is damn good, i mean, all of their albums are. But every damn song is good on Mental Jewelry. I'm not sure if I can say that with TC.

Mental Jewelry: Good album. Still has a little college band feel to it. It's that feel like they almost have it.

Throwing Copper: Classic. Front to back, soup to nuts. They got it right in every way. Sonically, it is way better production. Better songwriting. Better playing. It is a classic.

Secret Samadhi: Trying to follow up a classic and not do the same thing over again. I think they missed on this one.

They are one of the bands that I really, really hated in the 90s. Same goes for Counting Crows.

Pain Lies on the Riverside is the GOAT Live song. Mental Jewelry has some great songs, but Throwing Copper is an overall better album by a sliver due to a better variety of styles and a higher number of great songs.

This. Played this on the college station I worked at when it came out and I still love the song today

I do prefer Mental Jewelry. The bass is so much more prominent on that album. I prefer Pain Lies on the Riverside, Operation Spirit and Waterboy to any song on Throwing Copper.
