Marcus King Band coming to the Saenger in New Orleans May 4

For my money this guy is the best young blues/rock guitarist out there.
They do mostly original music, but here 's his band playing the Allman Brothers' Whipping Post. Not sure the girl is, but she's not normally part of the band.

I wish one of these stud guitarists would venture out a little more in terms of genre. Blues/classic rock is such a boring played out sound. Sucks that these young guitarists are so smitten with the older guys that sat in their comfort zone and cashed a check. Don't need any more Derek Trucks of the world

Marcus Kings steps way out of the blues box at times, Derek Trucks incorporates many jazz elements in his playing as well as influences from Indian music, The Allman Brothers Band with him or any of the other guitarist incorporated way more jazz elements into there music than typical blues. Out of their entire catalog very few songs incorporated traditional blues/rock progressions.
