I want one and know nothing other than they are dammed pricey!! Is there a really well made great sounding one that is not expensive? Like seagull is to an acoustic guitar?

I have a Fender mandolin I paid about $150 for about 8 years ago...this one I think....$200 is the price now LINK. I don't play it that often as I get tendonitis in my elbow when I play it too much. I play my guitar mostly.

ETA: I have this one...has a pickup on it. I used to play gigs and plug into the PA. LINK

If you're looking into any F-style mandolins, I've got a Michael Kelly Legacy FS-E (has a fishman built-in)...extremely happy with it...

That one be above what you're looking to spend, but I would believe their other models would be solid.

I am sucker for songs with madolin and/or banjo in them. I have always wanted to learn both but realistically don't ever see myself doing it.
