Mad Season

I continuously find myself listening to their album. River of Deceit may be the most forgotten song of 90s. They have an amazing live version of the song on YouTube where the bass guitar is incredibly pronounced and makes me terribly sad that John Baker Saunders passed basically as an unknown. Layne Staley makes it of course. Great moment in music.

A top "end of the night" listen.

The greatest underappreciated album of the 90s.

I’m pretty sure I ended many a nights with that one playing when that album was released.

I had a couple Mad Seasons play on my run this evening. I still mourn the death of Layne. A voice never to be replicated.

Wake up's intro inspired me to start playing guitar/bass.
The album is haunting perfection.
November Hotel is one of my absolute favorite instrumental jams. It sounds like an approaching thunderstorm that moves over you at its peak, and then passes, leaving you refreshed as it slowly slips over the horizon.

Agreed with everything said in this thread… love this album. Layne Staley is probably my favorite vocalist of all-time, and he’s incredible here.
I also really enjoy the much later released bonus tracks with Mark Lanegan on vocals too. “Locomotive”, “Slip Away”, and “Black Book of Fear”
