This is a hell of a deal on a great speaker.

Zu Audio doesn’t put this model on sale very often (the Omen). I have a pair that I bought 7 years ago on a Black Friday one day sale for $999 delivered and have come to really like their sound (the electric blue speakers you sometimes see in my smaller system).

Since then, the price of the Omen loudspeakers has risen to $2250/pair. You can get them new right now for $999 in the stunning Hickory finish.

This is a VERY efficient speaker...like 99db efficient—meaning you can play them very loud with just 15 watts of power.

It uses a 10” full range driver and crosses over to a super tweeter at 10,000Hz.

It is hard to beat a brand new speaker at this price—if you want them, better get on it soon as they will sell out soon.

Man... those are sweet.

If I didn’t have the vandys.... gonna holler at my buddy down the road who got me back into listening to records, he is building a new place and is gonna have a designated music/man room. He already has a TT, he may go for something like this that’s a good deal. Would just need to get him an amp and phono.

Those bad boys sound great. Just told a friend who’s looking for floor standers about the sale. Thanks.

Took the plunge earlier this week. Better hurry...I went with ghost black maple, but am waffling about calling them and switching it to American Walnut. Supposedly will ship St. Paddy's day.

I've been looking for a pair to replace my 30-year-old Bose speakers, and I jumped in too. 60-day free return policy is nice, as I've never heard these, but read a bunch of reviews and they sound like a great deal for the quality. Thanks for the tip!

When I was a freshman in HS I had a pair of CV D-7’s—they were huge!...and ungodly loud!

that's what I had in college too

when I got out, i got the biggest pair made for your house. It's too much but I'm not selling them now. love the fuses

eta
I actually inherited them in college. My roommate owed me money and was done with school and insisted they stay. I told him he was nuts and screw the money bc knew how killer the speakers were. I left them with my roommate later.

Mine went to Bama with me and were used every weekend at the frat house for outdoor parties because no one else had a system that was that frigging loud. It could be heard easily a block away!
I was driving them with a pair of Sony TA-N 55ES/330ES amps bridged into mono...

I left the speakers and amps at my parents place shortly after college where they sat in my old bedroom for a few years. Then came Katrina—the speakers sat in a foot of water for a week—-they were shot. The Sony amps, however, were high and dry—my dad still uses them to this day.

we lived in terry's (owner of the booth) house with the pool around 7th and 12th over near the coliseum. A pool at the Univ AL is a good thing. Those speakers were aimed out the windows at the pool.

I spent many a late night at Terry’s house doing illegal substances with some bar hotties after we closed down the bar. My roommate, Clay, bartended there for about 3 years (‘93-‘95).
