one question about the lure of a" live" band, especially a Cover Band. granted there is Nothing better than live music, especially when it is performed by talented musicians playing at a great venue. i hear people say, how do people watch idol, the voice, x factor, the 4, etc. etc., while they are out on weekends in bars watching "cover" bands ! what is the allure ?

People like stuff they already know. They would rather listen to a cover band play songs they've heard on the radio a million times than some original band whose music they aren't to familiar with.

they are looking for a fun time. Hang out, drink, sing along.

I am not a giant cover band, but everytime I get roped into going I have a good time.

cover bands are easier to find. a chance to hear live music while waiting for your favorite band to pass close enough to see.

cover bands play songs by several different artists.

if you go in with the understanding that they are just playing someone else's songs, it can be a good time

Cover bands are fine. Its more about the music. There are some good cover bands out there that play music you can not hear live anymore
