Yeah, if you want to forget that you are running and jam out to the entire album. When you look up and realize you are miles from your house, don't say I didn't warn you.

Got to say, I majorly bought into the hype on this album and I am a little disappointed.

I thought everything would be "get lucky" calibre, and I think maybe only 3-4 songs are, if that.

Maybe it will grow on me. I will definitely listen many more times, but after the collaborator series, I was expected more solid gold rather than a few nuggets and golddust. Sad to say the hype on this one didn't pan out.

The album is just OK. They really got away from what made them famous and amazing and gave us something that is basically all elevator music in my mind. I've seen Daft Punk before and I just can't imagine them doing this stuff live and it be any fun. Like I said its OK but not amazing, great or unbelievable. Alive 2007 was amazing, discovery was amazing, homework was amazing but this is just OK. Their weakest album they have put out.

When I read this post yesterday, I didn't want to believe it. After listening to the album this evening, I have to sadly say that I agree.

The vocals on this album are atrocious. Just an overly processed mess that shits all over an otherwise good album. Nothing spectacular, though. Nothing ground-breaking in any way. I keep feeling myself thinking about Jamiroquai, but I'd much prefer to hear Jay Kay singing than a damned speak-and-spell effect on every damned song.

I'm trying to think of a Daft Punk song that doesn't have processed vocals and I'm having a hard time finding one.

Sorry you were expecting something different, but there was no precedent for it.

Also, this

I see some similarities, but for the most part agree. I still love it, though.

Also, check out the link I posted in the comment above. We might get some more traditional Daft Punk after all.

Is it possible that Daft Punk created a disco album that they could intentionally sample later on for more material? Quality disco samples must be harder to find every day. I personally like RAM for what it is, but I’m not going to lie when I say I’m missing high energy tracks like ‘One More Time’ , ‘Around the World’, & Da funk’.

Really?

Did you not listen to Contact? Or Giorgio? These two songs have high energy drums on it.

I wasn't expecting anything. I'm not an EDM fan at all, but I am willing to give anything a shot. My completely unbiased opinion is that the vocals make the album hard to listen to.

Should have just gone instrumental and not shite all over their own hard work.

I don't think R.A.M. is EDM.

I realize that it's dance music that was made electronically, but it just doesn't sound like EDM. The tracks aren't oonssah oonsah oonsah. It's more like funk. Or disco.

Either way, I still dig it.

The Pitchfork review called "Lose Yourself to Dance" the weakest song on the record.

I never understand their reviews. Of any album.

Generally speaking, I don't find music reviews to be helpful, insightful, or even worth reading, but I did recently read a review or two from Consequence of Sound that gave me the impression the reviewer was actually listening to the same album as me. Like the tracks listed as being the best tracks were actually the best tracks.
