Listened to a leak of MGMT's new album Little Dark Age (Officially Drops on the 9th)

I'm not a big fan of claiming the newest thing as the best thing, but I do believe I'd rate this album higher than their previous self-titled album from 4 years ago. I know a lot of people aren't a fan of their live performances, but I think anyone would agree they've always been more of a studio band than a live act.
Anyone who's a big fan of New Wave and/or psychedelic rock might want to give it a listen. It's a short listen, 10 songs. One Thing Left To Try might be one of my favorite things they've done since the 2007 hits. She Works Out Too Much is a fun song. When You Die gives me Mac Demarco vibes.

I've listened to the 4 singles. I really really like Little Dark Age, When You Die, and Me & Michael. The music videos are so out there, too.

I really can’t state enough how severely underrated the album “Congratulations” is. The new album, like the self-titled, is growing on me with each listen.

You really should give it another try, People were severely let down by the fact that there were no singles, but the album is a masterpiece. It’s working, Brian Eno, and Flash Delirium are my top 3. The album should be played in its entirety though.

Yeah I think the music sounds good through a pair of good headphones but the lyrics are so dumb and meaningless I’d be embarrassed to listen to it out loud.
