Death Cab for Cutie did something similar with "The Georgia E.P."

Also, his version of Driver 8 really sucks. Death Cab's take on "Fall On Me" is pretty good though.

You guys gonna crucify me for mentioning the new album from Donny Osmond? Got some really good songs on it to me.

This wasn’t originally mentioned in this thread, but this album released last Friday is easily one of the best albums I have heard this year:

The World is a Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid to Die- Illusory Walls

I realize the band name is a lot, but the album is pretty great. It is a mix of post-rock, prog and Midwest Emo. At times I can hear parts Godspeed You! Black Emperor, parts Built to Spill, parts Jimmy Eat World, but it all works together. The last two songs (one 15 minutes, the other 20 minutes) are epic.
