Why are the tuners wrapped different?
( inquiring minds want to know )

Wanted to see if it would have any affect on neck without having to adjust truss (on the Ibanez).

Neck/truss rod relief (or lack of) is affected by string tension. Incorrectly stringing your instrument has no bearing on relief.
You are, however:
* prematurely stretching your tuners' internal post assemblies, causing damage that can't be repaired. If you leave the bass strung like that, the tuners over time will no longer hold tension in place. They will have to be replaced.
* potentially wallowing out the nut slots on the "E" and "G" strings, which can create tuning issues, unnatural string warbles and
* weakening the nut's "ears," the material from those slots to the nut's edges, which can lead to the nut physically cracking or breaking into pieces.
Revert back to proper string up at the headstock immediately.
Here's my bass ... early 1990s.

What's that set-up with the iPad?

Fret—I just did it a few days ago...I’ll heed your advice and change that side back this evening.
Thanks for the input.

How does that SVT7 sound? I am getting ready to get a new head in the next few months and have been looking at those.

Sounds great. Has a lot of the classic tube SVT growl.
If you're buying new, you have nothing to worry about. If buying used, make sure to get the Rev C00 version or later. Otherwise you're going to have serious problems with it cutting out during extended sessions.

2005 Fender Geddy Led Jazz (CIJ) w/ EMG active p/ups + Quilter BB800 + Revsound RS112TX
Also have a heavily modded 1974 Rickenbacker 4001 that I’ve owned since the summer of ‘81:

Let's see a real bass amp

No Ampeg svt or Aguilar DB751 into an 8×10 cabinet, no care.

I'm being an a-hole on purpose.
I love bass, it's just as important to me as the guitar, and I'm into black metal.
But I'm into modern medal production. Without proper bass, the music feels weak to me. As a guitar player foremost, but jack of all trades with drums, bass and piano too..I tend to give bass players and drummers friendly jests.

Had a Hartke 5000 going into 2 4x10s this past weekend. Don't have a pic handy.

Gotcha. So you smoke weed and play way too fricking loud.

What kind of mods do you have on the Rick? I'll try to post a picture of mine later. I've got a 1976 4001 with a bartolini in the bridge pickup slot and a newer push/pull 4003 harness installed, to be able to bring the orange cap in and out of the circuit.

My bad. Hard to pick up online.
I'm kind of the opposite: a bassist that moonlights as a guitarist.
Edit: Got a little into black metal when I lived in Norway. Some of it's not bad. Some of it definitely is.
