Downvote me all you want, baws. This album is some kind of soulful, R&B, 90's influenced bop fest.
She officially released her first single, Love So Soft, a while back but that song was really the song on the album most geared to introduce her new sound to U.S. audiences.
Love So Soft - Nashville Sessions
Then she released a ballad to give people a taste of the vocals she wants to serve. This isn't released as a single to radio, just something to tease the album. It's called Move You. I like it and all but it's not something I am going to listen to over and over. Her vocals are great and the last 1/3 is gospel sounding.
Move You - Nashville Sessions
Finally, she released the title track - Meaning of Life. This song was definitely something that grew on me quickly. I love it. She says this song started the entire album. She got this song and it was exactly what she wanted to build an album around. Her live vocal of this is just absolutely insane.
Meaning of Life - Nashville Sessions
The album officially releases tomorrow. I have heard the entire thing and this album has absolutely no filler. Her voice is as good as ever and she is making the kind of music she wants. I don't expect it is the kind of music that TD follows but I think most of us can recognize and enjoy talent when it is out there. She is finally putting it on full display.
If you want to preview the album or look for other songs, I suggest Heat or Medicine as the poppiest and most accessible and I Don't Think About You or Don't Pretend as ones that show off her voice and her new sound.

I think most people here respect Kelly Clarkson's vocal ability.
I certainly do. I don't listen to a lot of her music, but she can fricking wail.

No hate here. Call her a guilty pleasure or whatever, I’m man enough to admit I dig her.

She is a good singer. Don't tend to love the songs themselves but she can sing them
I clicked one of those and it seemed like she was having a little trouble with breathing (just wasn't getting enough air in easily to be able to hit her potential). Not sure if a bit of a cold or just out of shape. Wasn't crippling or anything just not optimal.
