The run Bonamassa starts at the 1:54 mark is sick.

I love Bonamassa. I feel like he fills a hole SRV left behind.

He's almost too flawless. I love the guy, but at times it's almost robotic.

Watch this. Amazing and on an acoustic.

Not trying to thread jack. Thought OP would like it if he hasn't seen it or know who Monte Montgomery is.

I find him the exact opposite. Just because he plays with extreme precision doesnt mean he lacks heart and emotion, which is what Im assuming youre trying to get at by saying his playing is robotic. He's not running harmonic minor scales and sweeps or long linear runs like you see with some metal players. You cant be robotic if you throw in a passionate vibrato at the end of a pentatonic run like he does at exactly 1:58. If Bonamassa is robotic, then so is SRV who was an extremely precise player.

I'm not saying he lacks heart and soul, it's hard to explain. I'm a fan of the guy. His precision is great, but it's almost too perfect. I know that sounds ridiculous.

I appreciate that he's a good blues guitarist, but his songs do nothing for me.

He's probably the most technical and precise guitarist today, and I'm a fan. But it doesn't move me like Derek Trucks or greats like BB King, David Gilmour, Hendrix, Freddie King, Albert, Buddy Guy, SRV, Duane and some of my other favorites

Like there's nothing distinctive to his playing other than it being insanely precise and basically perfect. Jack White can't do half of this shite, but he has his own style and that adds more character.

I agree. Not a huge fan of Jack White, but I totally agree with the sentiment.

If you like that why not just go to the source he copped it from, Eric Johnson.

White is raw. Which I like. What's fun about noodling scales over and over?
