he sounds pretty pissed off at Meg in the article.
he's playing Stripes songs on his solo tour and he says:

i think in a way that's what he's doing with this solo stuff. putting another drummer (and some others around him) and just calling it "solo" work, but it's in fact like the stripes...if you listen to the new solo stuff, it's the closest i've heard to the stripes since, well, the stripes.
