I listened to The Blue Album recently for the first time in years. It still holds up as a damn near perfect rock/pop album. But the icing on the cake is Weezer's masterpiece "Only in Dreams". The guitars in the beginning of the song build up the mood. The song itself tells the story of the guy not getting the girl, and only being with her in his dreams. The way the guitars build to a perfect crescendo to end the album is nothing short of fantastic. To this date it's Weezer's best song and one of the all time great album closers of all time.

Well put. Amazing song. My favorites usually are those on concept albums that seemed perfectly positioned.

Bar Italia on Pulps Different Class and The Tourist on OK Computer come to mind.

Might be my favorite Weezer song

I use to sit in front of my speakers in my college apartment after a long drunk night and listen to it. lol

its perfection. The build up drums and guitars are amazing

Hard to argue, great closing track. Champagne Supernova on WTSMG another similar epic closer from same era.

Yeah. It's up there. It's a perfect ending to that album and one of their best songs. It's also why I like their 3 song closer, "Futuresque Trilogy", for Everything Will Be Alright in the End.

Both are fantastic. I think Only in Dreams is probably the better song, but OK Computer is the better record.

Fantastic song. I remember seeing Weezer live after the Green album came out....they played an extended version of "Only In Dreams" right as I was at the peak of my high (sativa). It seemed like the solo went on forever. I got lost in it. It was fantastic.

I crushed my own pretty toenails into a thousand pieces
