Is there a more unique rock musician than Johnny Greenwood?

That first one you linked is an embarrassment to music. That song was pretty terrible. And Greenwood barely played at all throughout the entire song. What "technique" is it that you speak of? He literally picked a simple walk down chord progression for 90% of that and did no lead work at all.

But seriously, if you listened to that and thought that Greenwood was only doing a simple walk down chord progression for 90% of the song, then you simply did not know or realize what sounds were coming from Greenwood's guitar.

There is a whole genre of it, its called psychedelia. Some like psychedelic music, some don't, but to discredit it as "drunk, sloppy jazz" is dumb and lazy.

Greenwood is amazing, he has some really unique methods that produce sounds no one else does for sure. I saw them in New Orleans in 2003 and watching him move from guitar, to synth, to KAOS pad, to drums, and etc all concert long was exhausting.
To be Fair Lucky is way better than in Limbo but I love both.
Check out some of his solo stuff like the Bodysong LP, it's pretty badass. I own the vinyl.

Yeah, its pretty wild how he builds his own instruments. shite that only exists by him. Dude is smart as hell, and is a programmer as well. Watching him perform is highly entertaining. He uses so many interesting nuances and subtleties in his playing, which is probably why shite for brains thought that he was only playing a simple walk down chord during that entire performance of In Limbo.

I hear ya. I love In Limbo because it is such an abstract song that almost makes me feel as if I'm in that stage in between being awake, and being asleep. A very far out song.

Will do, for sure. I would love to get the vinyl, but it appears to be extremely expensive.

I remember reading somewhere he liked to program his own software for music saying something like "I don't want to rely on someone else's idea what reverb, echo, etc is and program them myself"
I think he made the sampling software they used to record King of Limbs.
