I went from liking it for the most part to not liking much of anything in about a year or two.
I feel this exact same way. A year ago today I was always up to date with new artists, finding leaks, the whole 9. Now I couldn't give two shits about it. I cant tell you the last time I listened/searched for new music.
Eta: I think part if this has to do with how busy I've been in the past year but also my taste has been swinging towards country for some reason. Mainly Texas.

It's been dead as a doorknob for about 15 years. Biggie, Tupac, and Snoop were the last artists that consistently made good stuff. The 80s and especially the 90s were a time when the genre was quite strong. Lots of quality music that even people who weren't really rap/hip hop fans liked. However, like most music since the late 90s, it has been utter crap since. Just embarrassingly bad since the late 90s.
When Lil Wayne is considered one of your top artists you know the genre has hit rock bottom.

I don't listen to HH, but when I scan the local channels from time to time I'll stop in an listen just to see what HH sounds like now.
Don't know the artist or artists name(s), but there is at least one rapper that sounds as though he is literally retarded...he sings the hooks and his voice sounds as though he has a mental deficiency due to trauma.

It's starting to grow stale to me, too. I was a big fan of Kendrick and loved everything up through GKMC, but since he released that album, he's done way too many features and it seems like he just screams on every song now.
J. Cole is my favorite artist, but he rarely releases stuff outside of his albums so the droughts kill me. Jay Elec is great, but he rarely releases anything. I like Kanye but Yeezus was terribad, for the most part. Jay-Z's last album was terrible. Not a big fan of Eminem. Rozay's album was solid. Q's album was a letdown to me. I have no clue what A$AP Rocky is doing.
I'm hoping the next round of projects from these artists can keep me listening: Chance, Fashawn, Isaiah Rashad, Travi$ Scott, and Future (like his versatility despite not being the most talented actual rapper). Otherwise, I'll probably just resort to listening to the old mixtapes and albums that I like, and quit checking for the newer stuff.
