I saw him on the HORDE tour in 95-96ish...opened for DMB and Blues Traveler. Dallas,TX middle of July, outdoors, middle of the afternoon. Temps were 105+. He comes out in a polyester suit and jacket. He's dancing around, about the middle his 3rd song he heat strokes out. Passed out on the stage.

They haul him backstage and canceled his set.

Lenny Kravitz is only famous because he decided to cover a song by The Guess Who. And his cover isnt even that much better if it is better at all.

Can anyone even name another Lenny Kravitz song without googling?

That cover is awful. Fly Away is awful. I think he gets overhyped for looking cool. I like that Heaven Help song, and that's about it.

i saw lenny open for the cult in '92. i enjoyed his set, but IMO he peaked around that time....since then, whatever music he released has been one collective "meh" to me.

Cult was awesome. I remember that show being crazy loud. maybe it was the venue.

I remember Lenny closing his set with Let Love Rule and he was trying to get the whole crowd to hold hands and sing along. kinda gay

I don't know about the GOAT, but his former drummer, Cindy Blackman (Santana's wife) is sure in competition for the award. She was awsome at Jazzfest last week.
