Is it time to take Jazz Fest behind the barn and end it?

Yeah no one shows up anymore. They're always struggling to sell tickets. No one ever complains about massive crowds or anything like that.

Festival lineups year to year are always hit or miss. This year is weak as hell though for Jazz Fest

Just because the headliners are 2012-2015 recyclables doesn't mean it's dead...for those of us under 35.

Quint really is going to have to figure out how to start bringing in new generations without pissing off the regs.

Lineup may not be good, at least compared to others, but considering the large amounts of people that always go and everyone having a great time, there's no fricking shot Jazz Fest will die out any time soon.

What the frick do you people want? Have you seen the second Friday lineup? Dave and Tim, wilco, the revivalists, Margo price, Anders Osborne, lake street dive, the deslondes, motel radio.

Jazz fest also has the issue of spreading out acts over 7 days whereas others only need to fill acts over 2-3 days so of course they are more top heavy. Just do some digging and you will not find yourself wanting at Jazz fest.

I think people focus too much on the "main" acts. I agree this year is a bit disappointing but I always find some very enjoyable artists that I never have heard of on the smaller stages or at the gospel tent. This is one of the great things about festivals in general.
