I have the S6 slim. I bought it several years ago. Good guitar. Plays good and sounds good. I don't think you can go wrong with it. I'd do just what you said, buy it and send it back if you don't like it.

Thanks! How is the string spacing on the slim version? Any issues you've had?

I've never compared it with the standard s6 nor have I played a standard s6. It is comfortable to play. I haven't had any issues. I only play it a few times a year because I have a lot of guitars, but it's a fine guitar.

Is there any drawback of getting a Seagull S6 with the QI electric parts, vs without.
NM I just went ahead and ordered the regular slim version from guitar center. It sold out on amazon, but return would probably be easier with GC.

Blueridge used to make really good guitars around your price range. That’s something that will last and sound great if anyone picks it up.
Agreed. Loved the couple of blueridges I've played.

Seagull and the other brands made by Godin - Godin, Seagull, Simon & Patrick, Art & Lutherie, LaPatrie, Norman...
all good, and all incredible bargains (thank you, exchange rate with Canadian dollar). Each brand has it own personality/feel/neck profiles...
I have a Simon & Patrick S6 that I bought used for $100 to play a gig that paid $350, and then it was a gigging workhorse for a solid decade or more after that... and I still have and use it so it's earned its keep hundreds of times over.
I also have a Simon and Patrick 12 string that I bought on eBay for $200 that I've gigged a lot with, too.

The S6 strings are noticeably closer together than the Taylor Academy. I thought the boys, as intermediates, would like to get a feel for the difference.
