It seems like I havent heard any new mixtapes or albums I have liked in at least two years.

There will be some stuff I will always like...NWA, Biggie, Tupac. Some of Nas's, Mos Def's, and DMX's stuff...any of Lil Waynes stuff before 2010. Most of Wiz's, Mac's, and Curren$y's early stuff. Some Immortal Technique and Jay Electronica.

But damn this genre has really turned to shite. It really hasnt been that good since like 2000/2001 other than a few bright spots. Its so redundant and unoriginal.

What has to happen for rap to become good again? Is there any hope?

i bet a bunch of posters are going to say something along the lines of "holy shite rap sucks so much. why'd you listen to it in the first place? get a real taste in music"

and i agree it's been pretty weak since '10. i liked good kid m.a.a.d. city A LOT though

I don't know if this is 100% relevant to this, but true words.

Jim tells it like it is from 11:15- end of the clip.

I keep seeing this on this board. What does it mean? Appears to be something different than what i called it back in school.

Idk what you've been listening to, but I would assume that it's pretty apparent that you might not utilize the Internet well enough.

There's plenty of good rap out there. These days you just kinda have to find it on your own.

Mixtape

Usually free music to keep fans interested before a release of an album and doesn't have all the production that a real album has.
