TT played at the Mid South Fair Rodeo (Memphis), I'm gonna say 1990 or 1991 and I was already a fan, but he was flippin awesome back then. Wife left not a fan because he was wearing a frilly pirate shirt.
There was a time when I thought he was the greatest singer songwriter in the world... again at the time. He seemed to disappear for a long time & I figured he was coked out of his gourd. Saw him on a PBS special a year or so ago, just him and a guitar and he is still dang good. You can tell he had to change his vocals some which is fine.

Anybody who discounts the entire genre of country music and a phenomenal talent like Travis Tritt isn’t really a music lover. In the same way that a guy who only eats Mexican food and Chinese food isn’t really a food lover. If you can’t appreciate things that aren’t your very favorite thing, you just don’t get it. Tritt is a national treasure. I know maybe 10% of his catalogue and I know that.

Travis Tritt and Tracy Lawrence are perhaps the 2 most underrated country musicians from the 90s
I can tolerate some Travis Tritt, but I took an immediate, intense dislike to Tracy Lawrence the first time I heard him.
