The Roundhouse, London, July 4, 1976 (Bicentennial Day!)
3000 people show up to see this new American band called the Ramones in their UK debut. Among them future members of The Clash, The Sex Pistols, The Damned, and Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders.
As you will note on the poster, the Ramones were not the headliners. This band was:
The Flamin' Groovies -- Shake Some Action
Possibly the greatest power pop record of all time

I was there as well, stayed toward the back of the room as I was under the influence of some illegal stuff and couldn't deal with the crowd up front.
I think I would love to go back and see one of Springsteen's shows in the 70's at either LSU or the Stone Pony
