My wife had never been to a concert that was such a spectacle when we went to see Roger Waters. She was blown away (as I was...he outdid Pink Floyd's visuals I saw in the dome in ''94) and is asking about our upcoming U2 concert in NOLA.

I saw them at LSU in '87, and they really didn't have any visual effects then. I see they now have a huge screen, so I'm expecting that, but that's pretty much it, right?

I told her I think the music will make up lack of visual fx. The bass and drums will be more prominent and chest-thumping throughout, more akin to Water's first song One Of These Days, where it felt like the building was going to collapse, if I remember right. Is it still like that?

U2 has plenty of visual effects. The screen across the back of stage is almost as wide as the field. The visual does not take away from the music - only enhances to a point. The music is great and if you like U2, you'll be happy.

They were one of the first bands to incorporate multi-media during the ZooTV tours. I saw them twice during that time & they were incredible. Not sure what they're doing on this tour, but you should be able to get a better idea on their website, youtube, etc.

I saw them with their spaceship stage in North Carolina in '09. I'm not a fan (2 friends are and they bought my ticket), but it was entertaining. Certainly felt like the Bono, Edge, and the other 2 show.
