I was in Nashville this weekend and stopped by the Johnny Cash Museum. In there, behind glass, I saw what is unquestionably one of the greatest pieces of memorabilia I have ever seen. It was a poster of this:

and it was autographed by all 4 of them. Yeah yeah, you say. But the cool thing was that each of them signed it with the 1st line of their particular narrative in the titular song.

e.g. Waylon's said: "I was a dam builder...Waylon Jennings"

Somewhat humorously, Johnny's said: "I'll fly a starship...'cross the universe divide". He actually wrote the apostrophe.

But seriously, I got major goosebumps. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I was hoping it would be available online, but nope.

I love that damn song.

Thoughts on the Cash museum overall? Did you do the patsy cline one as well?

Cash museum was great (although super-crowded.) I'm biased because I love him so much but I thought it mostly avoided corniness. The Hurt exhibit right as you exit was well done and gave me the chills.

Didn't do the PC museum.

I love that freakin’ song too. Got it downloaded to my classic country playlist. Right up there alongside “Amos Moses”, “Chug a lug” and “Uneasy Rider”. Those were the guys that young country artists had better look to for inspiration and influence if they want to really make it and have some longevity in their craft. Those guys had real talent!

That's pretty cool. I like that song. My personal favorite, though I know they didn't originally record it, is Desperadoes Waiting for a Train.

I just watched The Highwayman from Australia on Netflix and it was phenomenal. I was shocked at how good they sounded.
